1. Information We Collect
When you use CrashKit, we collect:
- Account information: Name, email address, and authentication credentials
- Accident report data: Photos, GPS coordinates, timestamps, driver information, and notes you enter
- Device information: Device type, operating system, app version for technical support
- Usage data: App features used, crash reports (no personal content)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain your account and accident reports
- To sync your reports across devices
- To generate PDF reports you request
- To send account-related notifications (password resets, security alerts)
- To improve the App and fix technical issues
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL database) with encryption at rest and in transit. Photos are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls limiting data to your account only.
We implement industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication, and regular security reviews.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only:
- With your consent: When you use the share feature to send your report to your insurance company or attorney
- Service providers: Cloud hosting and storage providers who are contractually bound to protect your data
- Legal requirements: If required by law or valid legal process
5. GPS & Location Data
Location data is collected only when you actively use the App to document an accident. GPS coordinates are embedded in your report for documentation purposes. We do not track your location in the background.
6. Photos
Photos you take within CrashKit are stored in your private account and are not accessible to other users. Photos are transmitted securely to our servers. You may delete your photos at any time by deleting the report.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all data stored in your account
- Export your reports as PDF at any time
- Delete individual reports
- Delete your entire account and all associated data
- Request a copy of your data (contact support)
8. Data Retention
Your reports are retained as long as your account is active. When you delete a report, it is permanently removed. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
CrashKit is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or email. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
